 Deliverables |
Notes: (1) The
Work Package lead partners are indicated by the highlighted box in the
matrix. (2) Part of the work in these Work Packages was undertaken
by tenured researchers of university institutions, working together with
contract staff and post-graduates, hence the full effort is not represented
in the person-months specified.
Objective:
To produce customised computer tools for real-world contexts of learning
and policy debate, and validate them for their scientific contents and
technical features, with reference to selected area(s) of interest.
Work description: Work Packages 4.A, 4.B, 4.C, 4.D
The Table on the following page summarises the Design Notions for the
implementation of VIRTU@LIS for each of the four chosen environmental
impact domains:
WP4.A Agriculture
WP4.B Climate change
WP4.C Fisheries
WP4.D Underground water resources
For each domain, four interactive modes were designed and implemented:
a Personal Barometer, Scenario Generator, Virtual Visit, and Multi-Actor
Game. This central part of the work was carried out in four principal
phases as follows:
-
Data Acquisition, including
cartographic data
-
Data Preparation
-
Model Preparation, Programming
and Calibration
-
"Tuning" to ensure
the release of a reliable environmental management or learning tool
or a commercially attractive product.
