Personal Barometer

Scenarios

"Explore your way towards sustainability" - Based, in each case, on "typical" dynamic simulation models of the resource, where outcomes depend on the model specification of natural system(s) and on socio-economic parameter choices
Virtual Visit

Some key concepts are already outlined in the presentation of WP2A, previously.  Note that, within each "Virtual World" there will be, somewhere, an appropriate Virtual Library.
Multi-player game

Constructed, in each case, as a multi-agent simulation model, permitting an individual user to be in an "agent" role and, building on that, permitting several players in the "game" at the same time.

The Fishu@lis Personal Barometer prototype serves to relate the consumption and lifestyle choices of users with impacts in the marine environment.

The Scenario Generator , where users can explore the effects of patterns of governance and socio-economics on the sustainability of fisheries, examine sets of future scenarios, explore ways to resolve differences in priorities, identify trade-offs and evaluate perceptual roles in eliciting change The Fishu@lis Virtual Visit (FVV) prototype is designed as a learning tool in which users adopt the roles of actors operating in the marine environment. Actor: FISHERMAN (or boat unit) or FISH
Inside the game, players must face dangers and carry on tasks in order to survive and prosper. In the initial version of the game 3 types of characters (migratory fish, predator and fisherman) share a persistent 3D underwater environment and interact in a variety of situations involving cooperation, combat and negotiation.
