Scenarios

Explore your way towards sustainability (Based, in each case, on typical dynamic simulation models of the resource, where outcomes depend on the model specification of natural system(s) and on socio-economic parameter choices

Virtual Visit

Some key concepts are already outlined in the presentation of WP2A, previously.  Note that, within each "Virtual World" there will be, somewhere, an appropriate Virtual Library.

Multi-player game

Constructed, in each case, as a multi-agent simulation model, permitting an individual user to be in an "agent" role and, building on that, permitting several players in the "game" at the same time.

Multi-scale hyper- AMOEBA permitting appraisal of:
--Fertiliser, water and pesticide use, relative to local or regional "carrying capacity";
--A farm's energetic "ecological footprint"
Evaluation of technological and sectoral options for a more sustainable (less emissions of fertiliser and pesticide residues) agricultural production on regional scales
(It is proposed to use Bretagne France models as references)
Educational/tourist visit to regions where intensive agriculture is raising sustainability problems due to fertiliser and pesticide residues and perhaps other forms of land "stress" such as compaction, salinisation and erosion. Actor: FARMING UNIT.
Choices: (1) Type of crop and cultivation (fertilisers, pesticides, profit and pollution consequences, within an evolving situation of (2) regional decisions for policies and goals of agriculture sector economic, social and environmental performance.
